People, Operations & Governance Leader

About

I’m Efraín Gómez, a bilingual HR and Operations professional based in London. Over 15 years I’ve built organisations, led operations, managed governance, and developed people functions across tech, retail, outsourcing, public administration, and the non-profit sector.

Why I write

I write to share what that experience looks like in practice. Not theory. Real frameworks, real decisions, and real lessons from building people infrastructure across sectors and jurisdictions.

My Background

I started my career as an HR Generalist at a recruitment and workforce agency in Spain. That grounding in the fundamentals shaped how I think about people operations, from the detail up, not the strategy down. From there, I moved into founding my own outsourcing agency, public administration, retail family business and eventually tech, where I spent almost five years leading operations and acting as the bridge between business units, HR, and senior leadership across multiple markets and international sites, spanning complex ER, performance framework design, organisational change, and managers’ capability building.

Throughout all of it, I’ve been drawn to environments where the work is complex, the context is constantly shifting, and getting the people infrastructure right actually matters.

I hold a EU Bachelor’s Degree in Employee Relations and Human Resources, a UK MSc in Global Human Resources Management (Distinction, 2025) and a CIPD Level 7 qualification.

HR tells you what to do with people. Operations tells you how to deliver success with people. Governance tells you how to do it sustainably. I speak all three languages.
